[00:00:11] I've been scaling e-commerce companies and consulting founders venture capital and private equity funds for nearly eight years now, and eight years 160,000,000 spent and $1.5 billion in revenue later. I've come to some stark realizations about scaling growth and the entrepreneurial journey that no one seems to want to talk about out loud. What I'm about to share are things I've only discussed privately in backdoor rooms with other industry insider veterans that I trust. I've never gone public with a lot of this until now. [00:00:45] No one wants to come for their own colleagues or their own industry. No one wants to be the one to tell uncomfortable truths that may make other marketers looking competent, unethical, unaware, or anything less than the experts on a pedestal that they hope to be perceived as. But I've recently come off yet another discovery call with yet another weary founder who's burst into full blown tears because he's realized how misled he'd been by marketers and gurus in Ecom and felt so fed up, betrayed and let down. He's just one of thousands of frustrated, disempowered founders who've had it up to here with feeling lost in a sea of experts claiming to have all the answers, whose lives have been upended by being led astray and sick of their growth and profitability goals remaining beyond reach. [00:01:30] Marketers and agencies prefer not to speak on some of this publicly. But the less founders like you know about what's really happening in the industry and how to navigate around it, the more e-commerce brands like yours will continue to get the short end of the stick, ultimately losing fortunes, relationships, confidence, security and peace of mind. The right way is rooted in your own data, and anyone who tells you otherwise is full of it.
